Naomi Osaka has debuted hot pink hair less than a week after she won the  2021 , wowing fans with her striking anime-inspired locks. 

The 23-year-old Japanese tennis star took to Instagram on Thursday to share a photo of her new magenta 'do styled by Martin-Christopher Harper and matching pink eyeliner by makeup artist Autumn Moultrie. 

'Sakura could never lol,' she captioned the image, referencing popular Naruto character Sakura Haruno, who also has pink hair. 

It's unclear if Osaka actually dyed her curly brown hair or the look is just the result of a wig, but people were feeling her eye-catching waves.  

In one day, the image has racked up more than 450,000 views, with fans — including plenty of celebrities — taking to the comments to praise the new hair color.  

'YUP!' actress Rachel Brosnahan wrote, while stylist Rachel Zoe responded with four crown emoji. 

Osaka even got the stamp of approval from Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. 

'U wore it better @naomiosaka lol,' wrote the eight-time Olympic gold medallist, prompting the tennis champ to get a bit starstruck. 

'I am fan-girling so hard sir,' she replied. 

Someone else pointed out that if she is emulating Sakura, that makes her boyfriend of two years, rapper Cordae, Sasuke.

'He better not act like Sasuke,' Osaka joked.

'I'll tell you that right now.' 

Meanwhile, tennis player Kristie Ahn thought Osaka was channeling superhero Lavagirl from the 2005 adventure movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

'Does this make Cordae Sharkboy?' Ahn joked.  

It's been an exciting year, so far, for the athlete, who won her fourth Grand Slam title last Saturday after defeating Jennifer Brady in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, at the Australian Open. 

Osaka, who is ranked third in the world, previously beat Serena Williams in the semi-finals before moving on to claim victory in the women's finals.

She last won the Australian Open in 2019, but it was Brady's first time in a Grand Slam final. 

Off the court, she was recently named a global ambassador for Louis Vuitton. She was photographed by Nicolas Ghesquière, LV's Artistic Director of Women's Collections, for the French label's spring-summer 2021 campaign.

'Wow this is actually crazy.

Honored to be @LouisVuitton newest House Ambassador,' she tweeted last month. 

'Funny story: I first bought my mom a LV bag when I was 16 as a birthday present and it's kinda been a tradition since. Do I call this a full circle moment?

Yes.' 

Osaka and her boyfriend Cordae also posed in a shoot together as the cover stars of  issue.

In their interview, Cordae admitted that he had no idea she was a tennis star when they first met. 

'It's not my sport,' said the musician, who was born Cordae Amari Dunston. 'If you asked me about tennis, before being immersed in it because of Naomi, I could only give you Venus and Serena Williams, you know?

Because they're just a part of the culture.' 

The couple had their first date two years ago at a Los Angeles Clippers game. They kept their relationship private for nearly a year, but that changed when Cordae was spotted cheering on his girlfriend at the 2019 U.S.

Open.  

'I don't know if I ever told Naomi this or not, but I felt really out of place,' he recalled. 'Like, that was my first time being in an environment like that in my entire life. 

'My elementary school, middle school, high school was 99.9 per cent Black.

Kids who look like me. It just felt really weird for me being in that space. That was my first tennis match ever.'
